The aim
I want this site to be usable by keyboard, screen reader, magnifier and touch, and to respect reduced-motion settings. The target is WCAG 2.1 AA; this is a continuing process, not a claim of perfect conformance.
What is in place
- Semantic landmarks, one main heading per page and a skip-to-content link.
- Descriptive alt text for meaningful images; decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology.
- Visible high-contrast focus outlines and keyboard-operable menus, filters, dialogs and forms.
- Text and interface colours checked against WCAG AA contrast targets on the light surface.
- Native
<dialog>elements, keyboard Escape handling and focus returned to the trigger. - Form labels, error messages announced through a status region and focus moved to the first invalid field.
- Reduced-motion support; the custom cursor is not used on touch devices.
Known limitations
- The YouTube player is third-party content and its internal controls are outside my control. A direct “Watch on YouTube” link is provided.
- The downloadable PDFs are designed for reading but may not be fully tagged for every screen reader. Email me if you need the content in another format.
- Older browsers may not support every modern CSS feature; the core content remains readable.
Report a barrier
If something is difficult to read, reach or operate, email kay@pkbcreates.com with the page and what happened. I will try to fix it or offer the content another way.
